Annually, this meeting is one of EDAB’s most popular events with many requests for copies of the information presented. The first General Membership meeting of 2003 featured Dr. Christopher Thornberg, Senior Economist for the UCLA Anderson Forecast, delivering his 2003 East Bay Economic Forecast, as well as a panel of distinguished local business and government leaders discussing their perspectives on the year ahead. |

The UCLA Anderson Forecast is a highly respected national economic forecasting service that is widely quoted throughout the country. Dr. Thornberg is responsible for the Forecast’s regional reports including Los Angeles and the East Bay. Besides his regional expertise, Dr. Thornberg’s work has included measuring the impacts of the NAFTA agreement, the recent California power crisis, and the September 11 terrorist attacks on the California economy. He authors EDAB’s East Bay Quarterly Forecast (emailed newsletter) and advises in the production of the East Bay Monthly.
