EDAB Spring 2005 Membership Meeting

| Co hosted by: San Leandro Chamber of Commerce Founded 82 years ago with a current membership of over 1100, the San Leandro Chamber’s growth reflects its belief in innovation and continual reinvention and a focus on the needs of members. Chamber projects include the development of an award winning training program called the Business Success Series, and producing highly regarded publications such as the 2004 Business Directory and Community Map. The Chamber connects its members via e-mail, faxes, personal contacts and a dynamic, up-to-date web presence.

Approximately 200 people gathered for EDAB's East Bay Economic Forecast and Annual Spring Membership meeting in San Leandro's Marina Community Center.

Honorable Shelia Young, Mayor, City of San Leandro, provided a welcome to the City of San Leandro along with some very interesting and unique facts about the city. |
Supervisor Carson was proud to announce that the Alameda County Administrator, Susan Muranishi, will be recognized at the 4th Annual Women of Distinction Award Reception on May 26th: |
The East Bay Forecast was once again presented by Dr. Christopher Thornberg, Senior Economist, UCLA Anderson Forecast A Senior Economist with the UCLA Anderson Forecast, Dr. Thornberg is a nationally recognized regional economist who authors EDAB’s East Bay Quarterly Forecast. Besides his forecasts for the East Bay, Dr. Thornberg produces the forecast for Los Angeles and has authored many studies concerning events affecting the California economy including the impacts of NAFTA, the power crisis and the impacts of outsourcing.

A Report on EDAB's Accomplishments through the first three quarters of the fiscal year was made by EDAB Chairman, Honorable Keith Carson, Supervisor, Alameda County.
