Keith Carson, President, Alameda County Board of Supervisors and Chair of EDAB, welcomed everyone and recognized the elected officials attending.

Supervisor Carson also recognized EDAB staff person Rohini Duvvuri for her assistance to EDAB over the last year.

Susan Muranishi, Alameda County Administrative Officer requested EDAB members assistance with the upcoming election in Alameda County that will have to be held without the use of the electronic voting machines, so a larger number of volunteers are needed (3,000 of the 4,600 needed have been recruited so far) and residents are encouraged to register for absentee ballots as this provides more time for the ballots to be processed. (See her Powerpoint presentation by clicking here).

Peter Hartman, Senior Economic Development Project Mgr., PG&E, represented the event sponsor.

Honorable Roberta Cooper, Mayor, City of Hayward, welcomed EDAB and its members and guests to the City of Hayward.

The East Bay Forecast was once again presented by Dr. Christopher Thornberg, Senior Economist, UCLA Anderson Forecast

A Senior Economist with the UCLA Anderson Forecast, Dr. Thornberg is a nationally recognized regional economist who authors EDAB’s East Bay Quarterly Forecast.  Besides his forecasts for the East Bay, Dr. Thornberg produces the forecast for Los Angeles and has authored many studies concerning events affecting the California economy.
