East Bay EDA Annual Board of Directors' Retreat

 The Retreat program began with a welcome by Mike Brown, East Bay EDA Vice Chair & Principal at the Walnut Creek law firm, Morgan Miller Blair.

The results of the election of East Bay EDA Officers were provided by Zack Wasserman, East Bay EDA General Counsel, and Partner, Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean LLP, as follows:

Chair: Keith Carson, Alameda County Board of Supervisors; Vice Chair: Mike Brown, Morgan Miller Blair; Second Vice Chairs: Dave Ciesco, NUMMI and Ken Mercer, ValleyCare Health System.

 

 

George H. Miller, Director of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, provided the retreat's keynote.  Dr. Miller's presentation focused on the many projects taking place at the Lab, as well as the implications of the Lab's new contract.

 

Dr. Miller's presentation was followed by 2nd Vice Chair Dave Ciesco's overview of East Bay EDA's accomplishments over the past year, and to set the stage for the small group discussions that made up the work session portion of the retreat program.  After Dave's comments the group broke into three small, officer-lead, groups to discuss East Bay EDA's priorities in the coming year in the areas of Business Development, Workforce Development and Regional Infrastructure.
