Cost Of Living

In February 2007, shelter costs in the Bay Area were up 2.8 percent from February 2006, compared with a 1.8 percent annual increase in February 2006.

The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 0.5 percent in February, before seasonal adjustment, as reported by the Bureau of Labor.

Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor.  The February level of 203.499 (1982-84=100) was 2.4 percent higher than in February 2006.
