Traffic of full import containers traveling through the Port of Oakland decreased 15.7 percent between July 2008 and July 2009 while full exports increased 4.6percent. Empty container imports increased 27.0 percent and empty exports decreased 10.8 percent.
Various air carrier closures and reductions in the number of flights have caused ridership numbers at OAK and SJC to trend downward since the fall of 2007. SFO ridership increased between July 2008 and July 2009, while OAK posted an annual decrease of 16.6 percent and SJC a decrease of 15.6 percent.
